Relational Psychotherapy

What to Expect

Do you simply not feel the way you would like? If you are hurting in any way, it is the perfect time to seek the help of a professional therapist. Are you as free as you want to be?

Relationships give life meaning and sustain us through difficult times  But conflicts arise in every valued relationship.  Sometimes conflicts remain hidden and unexpressed, leading to strain and pretense and ultimately self destruct.  At their best however, conflicts can be stimulating, enriching and enlightening. How we address conflicts and our differences can be the key element in determining their outcome.

Sharon's style is as effective for couples, families and parents as it is for individuals. Sharon works with her clients to assess strengths, resources, beliefs and the events that affect happiness and self esteem. Therapy is focused on your goals and your success.

Sharon's work and training began in 1974 in substance abuse counseling. Since then she has been helping individuals, couples and families develop and improve themselves while dealing with a variety of issues.  She believes that allthough it would be nice if life were always easy, simple and fun, the reality is that we all suffer losses and disappointments.  How we express ourselves and respond in these times can determine the ability to be resilient and whether or not we will ultimately emerge stronger, wiser and happier.

Sharon has successfully assisted clients in resolving issues related to marital conflicts, pre-marital challenges, loss, stress of infertility, adoption, illness, adolescence, raising children on autism spectrum and the life transitions of divorce and grief. Sharon has valuable skills and helpful life experiences that give her faith and confidence that her clients can grow and recover through the process of psychotherapy.

"Together we will examine the beliefs and experiences that serve you, as well as those that cause problems," Sharon says. "My approach is soothing, respectful and practical.  I welcome the opportunity to be a part of your very important journey."
